Fighter Association
2007 Air Races and Reunion
Reno, Nevada
YOU
CAN’T MISS
SO
DON’T MISS
A note from your 1st Fighter Association Veep, Jim Hardenbrook
It is destiny, not luck that our next Reunion is in ’07, in Reno.
With that lucky number behind us how can we possibly miss walking away
from a great event as WINNERS! This will be a memorable Reunion
made for fighter pilots, fight-tainers and Association friends and
family. If you miss this one the next Reunion will not be until
’09. This reunion is built around what we do best; socializing,
drinking, telling stories, drinking, telling lies, drinking, and if you
are lucky finding someone who will not only listen but possibly even
believe you!
Why am I pecking away on this computer to talk about this Reunion,
because this is Reno, this is Reno during National Championship Air
Race Week, this week is the highlight of the Reno tourist season which
means all hotels are sold out, all restaurants are full and all tours
and Race activities are booked and pricing will be at scalper’s rates
so if you want to be included in all the fun, at discounted prices, you
need to decide early, submit your registration form and make your
hotel reservation ASAP!
Your Association officers have put together an agenda that has
something for everyone to include activities from tours to Air Races,
hospitality suites to great meals, special guest speakers with updates
on Our Air Force and others providing their perspective on historical
events from our past (see schedule below). All this goodness
comes at a price, a price that your officers have negotiated with the
Grand Sierra hotel, transportation Companies; tour Companies and even
the National Air Race officers themselves. In addition to our
traditional hospitality suite, welcoming breakfast, Squadron dinners
and banquet on certain days we have arranged for tours into the Old
West or a scenic boat ride/luncheon on Lake Tahoe.
Many of the tours and events have minimum participation requirements so
in order to ensure we do not drop a tour from the schedule, due to lack
of participation, we need to know early on if you would be interested.
During all days of the Air Races, for those members who wish to attend,
we have arranged for transportation to and from the Races, reserved/VIP
seating on the tarmac at near show-center and pit passes; on certain
days our Aces and the entire Association will be recognized in front of
the thousands attending this event; on Saturday night following the
Races we have arranged for a genuine Southwest barbeque in the VIP tent
located in the pits.
In order to be included you need to register and make hotel
reservations NLT 20 July 07. To ensure a spot I recommend you
make your intentions known a lot earlier than 20 July as we have
blocked only a limited number of rooms at the special rate and once
they are gone all bets are off. When you book the hotel your charge
card will only be used as a guarantee, it will not be charged until
your arrival, if you decide to cancel at the last minute you must do so
prior to 48 hours before arrival otherwise you will be charged for one
night stay. Bottom-line, if you wait to last minute you will
probably miss out entirely or pay unaffordable prices to attend.
For the Undecided, we have even negotiated a cancellation policy which
will permit full refund on events until 10 August. So you have no
excuse, you can pay by credit card or check If you prefer to download
the registration form and mail a check, click here.
See you there
