1st Fighter Association goals:

- Preserve the rich heritage of the 1st and its three squadrons
- Provide forums for staying in contact with (or locating) fellow veterans and their families
- Foster ties with the current generation of warriors, allowing them to meet those who served before them, to share stories, experiences, and camaraderie, and to allow veterans and their families a better understanding of current events, personnel and equipment shaping the future of the 1st
- Provide a publicly accessible forum (website and newsletter) to preserve the 1st's historical records, photos, and stories, for families, friends, researchers and the global public

Register as a former member of any of the three squadrons, the 27th, the 71st, or the 94th or any of the support elements.
When you register and put in your name and era, you can surf the directory and find those who served with you. You can then get in touch with them to socialize, share memories and, if you join the Association, you can get together with them at our annual reunions.

The next reunion is in September 2007 at Reno, Nevada during the Reno Air Races. Our reunions are held near a military base where the current 1st Fighter Wing can participate. We anticipate a great turn out from not only the WW2 veterans, but from the current 1st Fighter Wing personnel and those that served with the 1st between WW2 and today. We have had fantastic reunions for over 10 years, including active duty participation, and an increasing number of FIS-era members (despite their separated squadron locations). To become a member of the 1st Fighter Association and receive issues of our newsletter (1st Fighter News) fill out the on-line application form and mail a check for $20 (payable to 1st Fighter Association), to the 1st Fighter Assn Secretary/Treasurer: Pete Marty, 107 Bear Crossing, Hampton, VA 23669-2009.

Your membership entitles you to:

- Receive the 1st Fighter Newsletter, published approximately three times a year (includes updates on events, contact information for members, new member information, a full membership rosters, and detailed reunion information).
- Receive updated contact information for members, new member info, and a full membership roster annually
- Attend our reunions and special events
- Decide the future direction of the Association (e.g. Vote!).
