The 94th FIS was transferred to ADC from SAC in December 1948 at March AFB with F-80 aircraft, but was transferred back to SAC in May, 1949. In April, 1950 the 94th was transferred back to ADC, flying F-86As. Later in 1950, the 94th moved to George AFB, CA, and transitioned to F-86Ds in February, 1953. The 94th transferred to Selfridge AFB in August 1955 and transitioned to F-86Ls in 1956. In April 1960, the 94th transitioned to F-l06As. During the 1960's, the 94th maintained an alert force in Alaska, intercepting Russian bombers on missions over the Bering Sea. In June 1969, with tensions mounting in regards to the Pueblo Incident and the downing of an EC-121 by North Korea, the squadron deployed to Osan AB, South Korea for 6 months. In December 1969, the 94th moved to Wurtsmith AFB, eventually being deactivated (changed to the 2nd FIS). On 1 July 1971, the 94th unit designation was transferred to TAC, and moved to MacDill AFB, Florida, as part of a realignment of the original First Pursuit Group. |

Painting of F-106's practicing air combat maneuvering. Closest is an F-106B (two seat). Note: "No "B" models were ever modified for the gun and the bay area of the "B" model shown does not have the normal gun mod doors with the gun pod access bump. What I do see is the tail hook going aft to the tail section and the dark outline just forward of the bay doors is the old UHF/VHF antenna that was mounted in the "05" "Hell hole" compartment access door.
