These are pictures taken on the bus. Our tour conductor was Major Brad (Nodak) Franklin. I suspect many of you who were at Langley wondered how he got his nickname. I thought that he might have been from North Dakota and they shortened that. Pete Bartos explained in an email to me. "Nodak is his callsign based on photographing a Russian Bear bomber near Iceland on an air defense scramble without any "kodak" film ( = "nodak")" . That must have been a non-kodak moment that he still remembers. Nodak was a great tour guide and he and Vic Jonston saw to it that all of us were on the buses and that none were left behind. There are only two pictures, but I thought it worth the time to show Nodak in all his glory.
